Exeter (20 minutes away) is a partly cobbled old Roman walled city with a beautiful
Cathedral. It has excellent shopping, theatre and music venues, restaurants and
museums. Bikes, canoes and paddle boards can be hired from Exeter quay.
Exeter is home to rugby union side the Exeter Chiefs (15 mins) and football team Exeter City (20 mins).
There are many National Trust and RHS properties and gardens locally, including Rosemoor (50 mins) and Castle Drogo (15 mins).
There are many local golf courses and coarse fishing nearby.
Dartmoor is within a ten minute drive, and the coasts and beaches are approximately 30 minutes away.
The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are in Cornwall, around 75 minutes away.
For the more adventurous, close to Exeter is an excellent go-kart track and also a forest adventure centre.
